101 Things in 1001 Days
This idea fascinates me! Being a (recovering) perfectionist, I want to be able to do it. I NEED to be able to do this. I love writing lists, although I was stuck at #60 for quite some time. I had NO idea what I was going to fill the rest of this list with. Looking at other lists certainly helped and inspired me.

I will cross things off as they are completed.
Start: Sunday September 7, 2008

Creative
- Sew dresses for kids. (completed Jan 09)
- Sew a skirt or dress for myself.
- Knit a Noro sweater.
- Refab a t-shirt. (completed Sep 09 - see my Flickr photos)
- Embroider something.
- Sew curtains for windows. (completed C’s curtains July, 2009. Getting ready to do Z’s)
- Find a suitable material for magnets. (completed Oct 09 – can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner!)
- Paint our coffee table.
- Finish green skirt. (completed November 5, 2008)
- Finish felted boxes.
- Knit hats for kids. (finished Dec 08)
- Make a cardboard chair (Craft magazine). (ack! Hubby threw out cardboard I was saving for this!)
- Make a freeform crochet project.
- Make another paper mache bowl.
- Sell paper mache bowl on etsy.
- Sell magnets on etsy. (2 sales so far! December 2009)
- Refab worn knit socks into cuffs.
- Knit beaded cuffs.
- Knit a vest. (finished Dec 08)
- Knit a Twinkle design. (in progress)
- Frame 3 of my works of art.
- Have magnets featured in Vogue Knitting.
- Get back into the Creative Mom ATC exchange. (completed Sept. 9/08)
- Do the 365 day project on Flickr (or 52 weeks).
- Fill up my art journal. (completed October 2009)
- Make a quilt.
Learn Something New
- Learn how to play guitar.
- Take an acting class.
- Take a class in something I’ve never tried before.
- Learn how to play the oboe.
- Try a new cuisine. (November 2009 – Hungarian)
- Attend a birth – volunteer as a doula?
- Try squash or racquetball.
- Attempt golf.
- Try a serger. (got one from Mom… now I have to figure out how to use it!)
- Try a Pilates class.
- Learn how to drive a standard car.
- Learn how to steek.
- Read and complete “The Artist’s Way”.
Health/Wellbeing/Exercise
- Meditate every morning for a week. (completed Jan 09 and still going)
- Do a cleanse (research first).
- Refrain from eating refined sugar for one month and note the effects.
- Refrain from eating wheat for a week and note the effect.
- Take another swimming class.
- Go canoeing or kayaking with family again. (August 09)
- Start and maintain a health journal to keep track of how my body reacts to foods, and my emotional highs and lows during the month. (in progress)
- Take a bath once a month. (3/33)
- Cross-country ski with hubby.
- Attend a week-long silent meditation retreat.
- Develop a habit of taking multivitamins and Calcium. (started Ca Jan 09)
- Refrain from eating after 8 pm for one month.
- Become confident on ice skates.
- Become confident on my bike.
- Ride my bike on one of the city pathways.
- Be grateful for my wrinkly post-childbearing belly.
- Hike in the Rockies with my family.
Friends and Family
- Go out for dinner with a friend once every 2 months.(7/16)
- Call one family member every week.(26/143)

Intellect
- Read and do Math Magic book to improve my mental calculations.
- Read 10 books that we already own.
- Find a way to help honeybees.
- Read “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich”.
- Read half of the books on the ALA banned book list.
- Read the rest of “Conversations with God” series.
- Read one more book by Richard Dawkins.
Travel
- Camp in the Rockies or nearby once a year.(1/3)
- Go to Turkey.
- Go to the Amalfi Coast.
- Try a cruise.
- Go to Russia.
- Visit Josh in Prague.
- See Cirque du Soleil “O” in Las Vegas.
- Go to Egypt.
- Go to China.
Still on my To Do List
- Reread coaching homework and DO IT.
- Unpack all the boxes in our house! (completed Dec 08)
- Set up studio in basement. (completed October 28, 2008)
- Organize the kids’ drawings. (completed Sept 09 – but they are starting to build up a pile again!)
- Put photos into albums. (bought a photo album!)
- Organize the office.
- Get portraits of kids for gifts.
- Hang art on the walls. (completed December 2009)
- Copy CDs to computer. (completed September 30, 2008)
- Copy photos to disk backup. (completed November 15, 2008)
- Get home videos copied to DVD.
- Get rid of 100 things I no longer need/use/want.
- Do another CPR course.
Just for Fun
- See Duran Duran in concert again.
- Volunteer in a hospital to hold newborn babies.
- Befriend someone who is over 70 years old (Thanks to http://susieqsoliloquies.blogspot.com/ for that one).
- Grow my hair long again and then cut it all off for charity and/or to donate.
- Figure out the kids’ temperaments in order to better relate to them. (in progress)
- Watch movies that won an Oscar for Best Picture.
- Read “Twilight” and see what all the fuss is about. (waiting to hear from my mother-in-law if I should bother)
- Purchase a rebounder and use it. (rethinking this one… tried a Needak and didn’t like it)
- Blog this list. (completed Sept. 7, 2008)
- Read “The Art of Sexual Ecstasy”. (started July 2009…but now it’s lost under a pile of other books I am reading!)
- Private.
- Model for a figure drawing class.
- Release 10 books via bookcrossing.com (almost there!)
